Tony Gillis
Tony Gillis got his start at River Sound working on Steely Dan records and training under heavyweights like Roger Nichols and Elliot Scheiner. Tony moved on to become a mastering engineer at the legendary Hit Factory in NYC. In early 2008 Tony joined The Cutting Room as our chief mastering engineer. Tony’s work (Prince, Jay-Z, Moby) speaks of his diversity and talents and we are thrilled to have him as part of our team. In keeping with that diversity, some of Tony’s recent projects include records for SONTALK and Naia Izumi on Sony Masterworks, as well as notable folk projects such as Molly Tuttle’s “…but i’d rather be with you.”
All tracks are mastered by Tony himself to ensure that each project is completed to the highest professional quality. Tony is also certified with the Apple Digital Masters program.
